Express Sport brings you all the latest Manchester United transfer news
Manchester United are still busy in the transfer market ahead of the summer deadline at the end of the month and could offload a number of stars over the coming days as the club pursue fresh talent. Midfield ace Scott McTominay appears to be pushing for a move to Napoli, while winger Facundo Pellistri is edging towards a transfer to Panathinaikos.
The Red Devils began their new Premier League campaign with a 1-0 victory over Fulham on Friday, with Erik ten Hag’s team aiming to bounce back from a disappointing season last time around.
Summer signing Joshua Zirkzee came off the bench to turn in the winner and will be hoping to win a starting place when his team travel to Brighton on Saturday.
Noussair Mazraoui started at right-back against the Craven Cottage outfit days after joining the club from Bayern Munich, while centre-back Matthijs de Ligt came off the bench following his move from the German giants.
United’s squad appears to be stronger on paper than it was last season, with Ten Hag also capturing the signature of centre-back Leny Yoro from Lille earlier this summer.
But the 18-year-old will have to bide his time for his competitive debut after undergoing surgery on a foot injury he sustained during his team’s pre-season friendly against Arsenal.

The 24-year-old winger, who has denied wrongdoing, remains the subject of a Greater Manchester Police investigation.
A statement from the player’s lawyers read: “The defence of player Antony Matheus dos Santos, in light of the news published by the press this Tuesday (20 August 2024), hereby confirms that the police investigation opened at the fifth Women’s Defense Precinct of Sao Paulo, of the Civil Police, was closed without any police indictment.
“The defence has always believed that the investigations, that run under confidentiality, would prove Antony’s innocence.”
Brazilian police have concluded their investigation into claims made about Antony.
Fernandes confirms ‘concrete’ offers
Bruno Fernandes has revealed he has turned down offers to leave Manchester United before signing a new deal this summer.
“The club knew I want to compete with the best. They knew we needed to improve the team. And we’re doing that,” he told MUTV.
“I had concrete offers but my first choice was always to stay at the club. It was not even demands, but the things that I wanted to see – the club going forward. To be honest, I look now and I see that the club is making an effort for that.”

Man Utd are set to make a move for Fulham defender Antonee Robinson.
According to Football 365, the London club will only be prepared to sell if they can sign Ferdi Kadioglu from Fenerbahce.
Barcelona targeting Rashford
Barcelona are reportedly targeting Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford as their next summer signing after failing to get Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao.
According to Gol, Barca boss Hansi Flick has now proposed a move for Rashford to club bosses in order to fill what he feels is a void on the left-hand side.
Flick is said to be an admirer of Rashford’s ability to dribble and cut in from the left. The 26-year-old had been linked with Barcelona before, as well as French champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Man Utd sensing Chelsea offer
Manchester United are sensing a formal approach from Chelsea for winger Jadon Sancho, according to The Athletic. The Blues are set to make a last-gasp bid for the former Borussia Dortmund ace.
United value Sancho at £40m, which won’t cause Chelsea any issues, but his £250,000 weekly wages could be a stumbling block.
Sancho fell out of favour at Old Trafford following a bust-up with boss Erik ten Hag a year ago and was left out of the matchday squad for the Red Devils’ victory over Fulham on Friday night.
Man Utd consider left-backs
Manchester United have been left exposed at left-back, with Luke Shaw missing the start of the season and Tyrell Malacia yet to feature since injuring his knee while in action for the Netherlands in June 2023.
According to TEAMtalk, the Red Devils are considering making a move for either Ben Chilwell or Marcos Alonso in order to find a solution to their left-back woes.
Chilwell has fallen out of favour at Chelsea, while Alonso is currently a free agent after leaving Barcelona at the end of last season.
Man Utd offered Ugarte loan deal
Manchester United may have to agree a loan deal for Manuel Ugarte initially in order to get their hands on the midfielder ahead of the summer transfer deadline.
According to the Daily Mail, Paris Saint-Germain have offered the Red Devils a loan deal with an obligation to buy.
But the asking price remains too high, with United valuing him at around £42million and PSG holding out for £51m.

Man Utd send keepers off on loan
Manchester United have confirmed that young goalkeeper Radek Vitek will join Blau-Weiss Linz on loan, subject to registration.
The shot-stopper is yet to make a competitive first-team appearance for the Red Devils but played against Rosenborg in a pre-season friendly last month.
“The Austrian Bundesliga should provide valuable experience for the 20-year-old, who illustrated his potential with an outstanding display in our opening pre-season friendly against Rosenborg in Norway,” United said in a statement.
Meanwhile, 19-year-old academy goalkeeper Tom Wooster will spend the season on loan at National League North side Farsley Celtic but will continue to train at Carrington.
Radek Vitek will spend the 2024/25 season on loan.

Man Utd aiming to complete jigsaw
Manchester United are targeting a No. 6 as their final piece of the jigsaw laid out at the start of the summer, according to The Athletic.
Manuel Ugarte is still under consideration, with sources believing an agreement is possible as the deadline approaches.
Agent Jorge Mendes is working on the deal, which could be completed late into the summer transfer window.
Man Utd hero raises transfer concern
Manchester United hero Dimitar Berbatov has raised concerns over whether Matthjis de Ligt can stay fit. The centre-back completed a move to Old Trafford last week and made his debut as a substitute against Fulham on Saturday.
“My only concern for him is to stay fit,” Berbatov told Futbin. “Obviously [Erik] ten Hag knows him. They were at Ajax together. Then he moved to Juventus and then Bayern Munich. That jumping from team to team, some can argue against this, but the thing is that every team he went to, they became champions. So let’s hope that it’s good karma and he brings it to United.
“Outside of the jokes and funny things, he is a really good defender so let’s hope he can stay fit – the most important thing for any player. And Ten Hag will put faith in him and let’s see how he will start in the Premier League because it is a different beast. Let’s see how he will handle the speed and all the quick players coming against him.”

Man Utd include sell-on clause
Facundo Pellistri’s exit from Manchester United is edging closer, with the Uruguay winger set to join Panathinaikos in a £5.1million deal, according to the Daily Mail.
And the Red Devils will include a 40 per cent sell-on clause when the deal goes through.
Pellistri joined United from Penarol in his homeland four years ago but has featured just 25 times for the club, despite winning 26 caps for his country.
Man Utd demand £25.5m package
Manchester United are demanding a £25.5million package to sanction Scott McTominay’s transfer to Napoli, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The deal remains a possibility, with the Italian club looking at several midfield options, including former United loanee Sofyan Amrabat. Amrabat spent last season on loan at Old Trafford from Fiorentina, with the Premier League giants opting against making the move permanent.
