Manchester United are circling Crystal Palace attacker Eberechi Eze ahead of a potential transfer swoop in 2025, according to reports. INEOS could be preparing to set a Bruno Fernandes succession plan into action amid the 30-year-old captain’s worrying start to the season.

Eze’s stocks soared towards the end of last term as he registered seven goal involvements in Palace’s final six Premier League games.

His impressive exploits earned a call-up to England’s Euro 2024 squad in the summer. He featured three times in Germany and has since picked up his eighth and ninth caps under Lee Carsley.

According to FootballTransfers, United are closely monitoring Eze, who has notched up three goals and one assist so far this season.

It’s claimed that the Red Devils admire his versatility, operating as a central attacking midfielder and a winger under Oliver Glasner at Selhurst Park.

However, the report adds that United would likely have to sanction a major sale to free up funds for Eze, who Palace are said to value at £60million.

Fernandes and Marcus Rashford are big-name players regularly linked with moves away in recent years.

Fernandes has been a shadow of his brilliant best at the dawn of the 2024/25 campaign, failing to score in any of United’s opening 11 matches and providing four assists.

The Portuguese playmaker ruffled feathers further while on international duty this month, suggesting he enjoys his football more when he’s away from Manchester.

He said: “It’s not a positive moment. We’re not winning games, and the national team space is completely different.

“I’ve felt very at ease. The dynamics are very good. I’m in my country, I speak my language, and I have better food. I have demonstrated a good level in the national team.

“It’s a space where I feel good and I feel like I can enjoy my football at a very high level, due to the dynamics we have and the quality I have at my side.”

United have reportedly discussed including £86m flop Antony as part of the deal to lower Eze’s fee.

However, Palace are thought to have made it clear they have no interest in the Brazilian winger and won’t entertain any offers lower than the £60m threshold.

Eze, for now, will be ultra-focused on adding more goals and assists to his game to help the Eagles – who have yet to win and losing four of their opening seven league fixtures.

Michael Olise’s departure to Bayern Munich has hit Glasner’s side hard, but Eze will become even more of an attractive proposition if he helps fill the void.
