Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag and sporting director Dan Ashworth
Manchester United are expected to busy in the final days of the transfer window as they look to raid their Premier League counterparts.
Manuel Ugarte will be unveiled as their newest summer signing, with the PSG midfielder poised to seal his £50million transfer to Old Trafford in the coming days.
The 23-year-old will be the fifth new face to arrive as INEOS’ spending surpasses the £200m mark. But Erik ten Hag’s business might not be finished there, as the Dutchman is chasing a late deal for a new winger, with Jadon Sancho likely to depart before the transfer deadline.

Jadon Sancho deal agreed
Manchester United and Juventus have reached an agreement over Jadon Sancho’s prospective move to Turin, according to RMC Sport.
The two clubs are said to have settled on a loan with an obligation to buy, which would ultimately see Sancho leave Old Trafford permanently next summer.
Sancho is reportedly keen on joining Juve despite recent interest from Chelsea, and the possibility of a swap deal involving Raheem Sterling moving to United.
Sterling’s Chelsea future remains uncertain.

Yorke slams unambitious Man Utd after Osimhen snub
Dwight Yorke believes Manchester United are only aiming to qualify for the Champions League this season because they have not made a move for Victor Osimhen.
The former Red Devils frontman believes their refusal to get involved in signing Osimhen, 25, shows a lack of ambition.
“Manchester United aren’t making any effort to get Victor Osimhen because they’re not interested in trying to win the title. They’re trying to play for fourth,” Yorke said, speaking to Lord Ping.
“Signing players just to get you into the top four is crazy. I see the game a different way as a former footballer and that’s exactly what they are doing. Anything above fourth will be a miracle.
“The mindset is that fourth is the best they can achieve so are they going to go and spend £100m on a title-winning player? No chance.”
McTominay gets touching parting gift
Scott McTominay was handed a heartwarming present from a young Manchester United supporter as he prepares to bid farewell ahead of his move to Napoli.
The Scotland international is expected to finalise his £25million switch to the Italian club on Thursday when he flies to Naples after a slight delay concerning paperwork.
On his way out of Carrington, United supporter Skye – known for giving out bracelets to players including Mason Mount and Joshua Zirkzee – ensured McTominay got his own farewell gift, as reported by talkSPORT.
The midfielder could be heard thanking her, saying: “No way! Thank you very much, that’s so sweet I’m going to put it on. That will stay with me forever.”
Sancho makes Juventus choice
Jadon Sancho has reportedly made it clear he only wants to join Juventus, suggesting he could snub a move to Chelsea.
The 24-year-old is waiting for the Red Devils to secure his exit from Old Trafford either on loan or a permanent deal after a nightmare three-year spell following his £73million switch.
In the last hour, it emerged Juventus have agreed to sell Federico Chiesa to Liverpool and that could be the catalyst for the Bianconeri to step up their move for Sancho.
Alfredo Pedulla reported that the Old Lady have made ‘contact’ with his entourage, and Sancho is ‘very keen’ on moving to Turin. As part of any loan deal, Juve would pay part of his salary and agree an option to buy.
Chilwell deal back on
Manchester United are once again reportedly exploring a potential move for Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell.
The two clubs have been in ‘constant negotiation’ over the last two days over a possible deal involving Jadon Sancho and Raheem Sterling.
But The Independent report Chilwell, 27, is of interest to the Red Devils in a deal separate to the Sancho-Sterling swap.
The England international still has three years left on his Blues contract but has been frozen out by Enzo Maresca. It is believed Chelsea want to resolve Sterling’s future first before discussing other exits.
DONE DEAL: Academy star leaves in £9m deal
Manchester United youngster Hannibal Mejbri has left the club to join Burnley in a deal worth £9million.
The 22-year-old was surplus to requirements under Erik ten Hag and spent the second half of last season on loan with Sevilla.
The midfielder is now set for a new challenge in the Championship under Scott Parker, with Mejbri set to play an important role in their promotion bid.

BREAKING: Man Utd hold Toney talks
Manchester United have made a late move to hijack Ivan Toney’s proposed £40million move to Chelsea.
Toney is expected to be moved on by Brentford before Friday’s deadline, with the Englishman subject to both Saudi Arabian and Premier League interest.
Chelsea said to be considering an offer, with the Blues confident Brentford will agree to sell at a reduced price.
But United’s late interest could cause the 28-year-old to reconsider a move to Stamford Bridge.

Outcast wanted by Serie A club
Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof is reportedly emerging as a top target for Italian outfit Lazio before the transfer deadline.
Sky Italia report the Swede, 30, is at the ‘top of the Biancocelesti’s list’ of targets.
It’s claimed the Biancocelesti have begun negotiating with the Red Devils for the centre-back, who is surplus to requirements.
Another outlet, Il Messaggero, claim ‘negotiations are underway’ with United to thrash out a deal for Lindelof to leave, although Lazio don’t want to pay a high transfer fee.
Ugarte undergoes medical
Manuel Ugarte is having his Manchester United medical today ahead of finalising his £50million transfer from PSG.
The 23-year-old was spotted arriving at the club’s Carrington training base overnight after flying in from Paris.
He will be put through his paces in the medical room by the club’s doctors and if all goes well, he will become their fifth summer signing.
Ugarte will sign a long-term contract with the Red Devils to bring an end to the protracted transfer deal, with talks lasting for several weeks.
United loan star could join Everton
Former Manchester United loanee Sofyan Amrabat could be playing against the Red Devils next season after Everton launched an approach to sign him.
The 28-year-old failed to earn a permanent deal at Old Trafford following his season-long loan from Fiorentina, with United set to buy Manuel Ugarte instead.
Amrabat is keen to secure a move away from Italy and the Morocco international has been in talks over a possible move to Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce.
But the Toffees are hoping to throw a spanner in the works by making a late move to keep him in England, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Rashford ‘unhappy’ at Man Utd
Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford is ‘unhappy’ at the club and is no longer enjoying his football at Old Trafford, according to club hero Dwight Yorke.
Rashford is yet to score this season and bagged only eight goals across 43 games in all competitions for the Red Devils last season. The 25-year-old has been linked with PSG and Yorke admits he doesn’t appear to be happy with life in Manchester.
Speaking to talkSPORT via The Mirror, Yorke said: “You can bring in the best coaches around him, but he has to have that burning desire to get himself back. We know he has all the talent and all the ability.
“But if he is not prepared to put that effort in and really bring himself back from his poorest season last year, he is not going to get back to that level. He has to want to do it.
“I have defended Marcus many times, but he just seems unhappy. For whatever reason I don’t know, but just does not seem to be enjoying his football like he used to.”
Mainoo transfer wish ignored
Manchester United appear to have ignored Kobbie Mainoo’s idea of a dream midfield partner with the £51million signing of Manuel Ugarte.
The Uruguayan jetted to England on Tuesday in order to complete a move from Paris Saint-Germain.
But Mainoo, 19, admitted he was keen to play with Paul Scholes in his career – which suggests he might have appreciated another ball-playing midfielder along side him in the double pivot.
“I’d say Paul Scholes,” Mainoo said as he replied to the question during a fan Q&A on the club website. “Although there might not be a lot (of) defending between the two of us. But, yeah, Scholes. Scholes – definitely.
“(Because of) everything. His passing, his movement, the way he could finish. His intelligence. Yes, he was a great player.”

INEOS plotting double masterstroke
Manchester United are planning a double masterstroke with the proposed swap deal involving Jadon Sancho and Raheem Sterling.
INEOS are taking a hardline approach to offloading Sancho, 24, who has been linked with Juventus and PSG.
The Red Devils are keen to get Jadon Sancho’s entire salary off their wage bill and sporting director Dan Ashworth has reportedly told Chelsea they will only consider a swap deal on their terms, according to Sky Sports.
Sancho could be heading to Stamford Bridge, with Blues outcast Raheem Sterling heading in the opposite direction in a ‘separate’ deal.
But with Sterling earning £325,000 a week, the Red Devils will wait for the 29-year-old to agree a pay-off with his club before making their offer.
United monitoring Toney after £50m hijack
Manchester United may face competition if they are to launch a late move for Ivan Toney after Chelsea attempted to hijack his £50million switch to Saudi Arabia.
The 28-year-old is set to leave Brentford in the coming days and agreed personal terms with Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Ahli.
But Chelsea’s interest could scupper the deal, according to The Telegraph with Toney favouring a chance to stay in the Premier League – although it remains to be seen if they can match his salary.
United will be keeping a close eye on the situation after being linked with a new striker amid fitness doubts concerning Rasmus Hojlund.
