Transfer news LIVE: Liverpool line up £85m move, Man Utd duo to Saudi, Chelsea latest

As we enter the final few days of the Premier League campaign, transfer speculation is gathering pace as clubs up prepare to do business in the summer transfer window. Financial Fair Play restrictions mean we won’t see money spent as freely as last year, but a crucial few months lie ahead for top-flight clubs with many targeting a rebuild.

A big rebuild is expected at Liverpool when Arne Slot takes over from Jurgen Klopp, with a number of key players heading into the final year of their contracts. It remains to be seen who will oversee the transfers at Man United and Chelsea, with Erik ten Hag and Mauricio Pochettino both fighting to keep their jobs.

Tottenham are expected to make a host of signings as Ange Postecoglou continues his overhaul. Man City meanwhile, are likely to be in the market for a long-term replacement for Kevin de Bruyne.

Arsenal join race to sign Xavi Simons

Arsenal and Bayern Munich will reportedly rival Barcelona to sign Xavi Simons from PSG this summer, according to Sport.

The 21-year-old Dutch international as spent the season on loan at RB Leipzig.

Varane to leave Man United

Raphael Varane has confirmed he will leave Manchester United when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The 31-year-old took to social media to say: “To you guys, supporters of Manchester United, it´s been an amazing few years to play for this special club and wear that shirt. “The first time I went to Old Trafford as a Man United player was insane, the atmosphere was amazing.

“I fell in love with the club, with the fans. You have to play for Man United to understand what that represents. For my kids, it´s home here. It´s going to be a special place for me, for life.”

Mbappe in ‘explosive row’ with PSG chairman

Kylian Mbappe was reportedly involved in a huge argument with Paris Saint-Germain chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi over the leaving video he posted on social media.

The striker is expected to join Real Madrid and according to French publication Le Parisien, an ‘explosive row’ ensued. PSG have denied the reports and claim the pai simply discussed the formalisation of Mbappe’s exit.

Liverpool lead race for McCarthy

Celtic, Liverpool and Newcastle United are weighing up a move for Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy, according to a report by the Daily Mail.

His contract due to expire at the end of next month, and the veteran is yet to put pen-to-paper on an extension. The Reds are said to be favourites to sign him if No.2 Caoimhin Kelleher moves on this summer.

United close in on £52m defender

Man United are leading the race for Juventus defender Gleision Bremer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Bremer is reportedly available for a £52million fee, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe chasing a long-term replacement for Raphael Varane.

Sheffield United prepare Patterson bid

Sheffield United have reportedly joined the race to gisn £8million rated Sunderland keeper Anthony Patterson.

Liverpool, Arsenal, and Wolves have all been linked with bringing Patterson in as a No.2, but the Blades are set to promise first-team football to the 24-year-old.

Seaman backs Raya ahead of a summer move

Former Arsenal keeper David Seaman has backed David Raya to become the long term No.1 at the Emirates with his loan spell set to expire.

Mikel Arteta can make the move permanent in the summer, and Seaman told Betway: “With David it was difficult for him at the start because he wasn’t used to the pressure of Arsenal. Everybody spoke about his stats last season, but they were for Brentford. When he first came, he found it hard to get to grips with it but now he’s gone on to win the Golden Glove, and that’s fantastic for him.

“It just needs that little cherry on top with Premier League winners’ medal.”

Chelsea to strengthen in four areas

Chelsea will reportedly target four new positions in the summer transfer window.

According to the Telegraph, club bosses want a forward, left back, centre back, and goalkeeper in the summer. Chelsea’s sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart are set to oversee the squad rebuild.

Saudi clubs line up Man Utd duo

Saudi Arabia clubs want to sign Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes this summer, according to the Telegraph. 

Cristiano Ronaldo’s club Al-Nassr are being linked with Casemiro, while Fernandes is viewed as a marquee signing by Pro League bosses.

Liverpool set to releases Kudus clause

Liverpool are ready to trigger the £85million release claus of West Ham star Mohammed Kudus, according to Ghana Soccernet.

The 23-year-old is well know to Arne Slot from his time in the Eredivisie, and has scored 13 times this season since moving from Ajax.
